Friends of Bodie Day – Bodie’s big annual event, taking place in August, is an action-filled day which includes Living History, Live Music, Special Tours and Wagon Rides. Period costumes are encouraged. Friends of Bodie members enjoy an evening BBQ dinner and program.

Daily Tours – Besides the recommended self-guided tour, Bodie offers daily Stamp Mill Tours and Free History Talks from Memorial Day weekend through September 30.

Special Tours – Take your Bodie experience one step further with these fascinating tours: the after-hours Bodie Ghost Walk and Star Stories Tour, the Mines, Mills, Rails and Ruins guided driving tour of Bodie’s Mining District, a 2-day Heritage Ghost Town Auto Tour providing in-depth history of Bodie and the region, or schedule your own 2-hour private tour designed to fit your interests.

Photographic workshops – Bodie invites those interested to plan or join a workshop which can include access inside buildings and into Bodie during closed hours.

Bridgeport Founder’s Day Celebration

This annual Labor Day (September) weekend happening is packed with events and ambiance reminiscent of the old days. Experience Bridgeport history with guided walking tours, local speakers and a special history presentation at the Sunday evening Annual Founder’s Day Dinner, Raffle and Auction. Listen to live music and shop specialty vendors on the courthouse lawn. Visit local businesses on a Main Street “Walkabout”, “Stampede” around the Bridgeport hills in a 5k/10k Trail Race and 5k Walk, and catch the old-fashioned wagon rides to get around town! Be sure to check out the Quilt Show, Ranch Roping Competition and Bridgeport Theater Group Melodrama. Enjoy Fishin’ Mission Foundation’s Western BBQ and Concert on Saturday night.

4th of July in Bridgeport!

Since 1863 Bridgeport has celebrated our country’s Independence Day in a grand way. The festivities can commence a few days before July 4 and can include an Arts & Crafts Fair, Softball Tournament, Kids’ Fun Attractions and Activities, Turkey Shoot, Horseshoe Tournament, Rodeo, Five Mile Run/Three Mile Walk, Parade down Main Street, lots of good food, and more. The commemoration’s grand finale is a Spectacular Fireworks Display. Come celebrate with us; most activities are within walking distance of the Ruby Inn!

Opening Day for fishing season in the Bridgeport area brings much excitement. Be sure to reserve your room early for this popular weekend. Opening Day is the last Saturday in April, and the season runs through November 15. There are a couple free fishing days (no license required) and some tournaments each season. Remembering Bodie Kid

The Bridgeport Gun Club schedules a number of shooting events and dinners each year. The annual Gun Rights dinner happens in June and brings in distinguished speakers.  As part of Bridgeport’s 4th of July Celebration, the Gun Club sponsors a Rodeo and BBQ.  Ducks Unlimited members and friends enjoy a dinner, auction and raffles each October.  Special shooting events occur throughout the year.  For dates and times, see Bridgeport Gun Club online at www.bridgeportcagunclub.com or contact Albert at the Deli, 760-932-7177.
